As I write this monthly article, during the first week of September, the summer is about to end. The oppressive heat and humidity will soon give way to the comfortable, mild warm weather we all love. Which is why so many of us choose to live in beautiful South Florida. To those ‘snowbirds’ who are now returning to their winter homes, I welcome you back.

Through writing The Legal Corner, and advertising in Cooppa Guardian for almost ten years, I am often dealing with a ‘senior population’. Potential clients frequently contact me about personal injury claims, which is my specialty.

Individuals who have been seriously injured by the negligent or wrongful actions of others often have their lives turned upside down. In addition to physical and emotional injuries, there are medical bills. If you are employed there are often lost wages. When you are involved in an accident in which you are injured, you probably have many questions. Who do I contact, what do I need to do? What type of doctor should I be seeing? What are my rights, who are responsible for my injuries, medical bills, property damage and other unexpected losses and costs?
